This Week at East Meck! 🦅
Here’s what’s happening around campus and with your PTSO:
- 🍎 Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week Recap – Thanks to an incredible outpouring of support, we spoiled our teachers and staff all week long! Huge thanks to our amazing volunteers and donors for making this week such a success.
- 🎓 Support East Meck’s First-Gen College Students – This year, we’re helping ~31 first-generation students with dorm essentials and care packages from bedding to everyday must-haves. Every donation makes a difference! Donate here
- 🍨 Dilworth Elementary Senior Sundae & Walk – Dilworth Elementary alumni seniors are invited back for one last Dragon House on Friday, June 5, at 1:30 PM! Wear your cap and gown, then celebrate with an ice cream reception in the Media Center. RSVP by May 22.
- ✍️ Scholarship Essay Workshop May 14 – Charlotte Mecklenburg Library is hosting a free online workshop,

Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week
|

|
Thanks to an incredible outpouring of support, we spoiled our teachers all week long! For Sweet Treat Day, homemade sea salt chocolate chip cookies, red velvet cupcakes, and pastel de nata were fan favorites. Extra donations also meant bundtinis from Nothing Bundt Cakes. For School Supply Day, teachers “shopped” for what they needed thanks to Mrs. Rodriguez’s amazing organization. On Breakfast Day, staff enjoyed sandwiches and coffee from Bojangles, donuts from Dunkin Donuts, plus generous donations of yogurt, fruit, muffins, cinnamon rolls and breakfast cakes.
A huge shoutout to Chelsea, Deyna, Ryan, Leah, and Lauren for the early-morning setup and serving crew. This week wouldn’t have happened without our generous donors and volunteers. Thank you for making Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week such a success!

This year, we are helping approximately 31 first-generation college students with financial need prepare for life on campus through dorm setup supplies and care packages. From bedding and storage bins to everyday essentials, these items help students start college feeling prepared, supported and confident.
