Here’s what’s happening around campus and with your PTSO:
- 🍎 We Need Your Help! – Teacher Appreciation Week is NEXT WEEK! Help us show our gratitude to East Meck staff and sign up to bring in items, volunteer or donate money. Sign up here
- 🗓️ Final PTSO Meeting of the Year – Our last PTSO meeting is Tuesday, May 12 at 7:30 AM, in person and virtual. Join us in the Media Center or on Google Meet.
- 🚌 Thank You, Bus Drivers & Admins! – We celebrated Administrative Professionals Day and Bus Driver Appreciation Day last week with lunch, treats, and snacks.
- 💙 Support East Meck – Help us provide grants for classrooms by donating to the PTSO Direct Give Fund at emptso.org/donate.
- 🦁 Lansdowne Senior Walk – Lansdowne Elementary alumni, mark your calendars for your Senior Walk on June 5 at 3:20pm. Keep your eye out for other senior walk announcements in future newsletters!

Teacher Appreciation Week is NEXT WEEK (May 4-8) and the PTSO has planned a great week to show the East Meck staff just how much they are appreciated!

Friday 5/8: Breakfast & Coffee Bar
Please help us give our staff members a week to remember! Visit our SignUpGenius to volunteer or bring in items. All donated items should be dropped off in the front office the day BEFORE the event. We will be sorting through all the donated items that morning to see what's missing so please make sure anything you sign up for is in the office by the requested date. PTSO Meeting May 12
Our last PTSO meeting of the school year will be held in person and virtually on Tuesday, May 12 at 7:30 AM. In Person: Please sign in at the front office and then proceed to the Media Center. PTSO Direct Give Grants
Thank you for supporting East Meck through PTSO donations this year. Our recent PTSO grants funded IB and AP classroom book sets, a subscription to the Scholastic New York Times Magazine for one class, and camera set for the photojournalism class. We are here to help meet the needs of the teachers, faculty, and students.
Anyone can donate to the PTSO Direct Give fund including parents, friends, family members, alumni, and other supporters. Donate today so we can meet all the grant requests for 2026: emptso.org/donate.

Thank You to our Administrative Professionals & Bus Drivers!
Last Wednesday, we celebrated Administrative Professionals Day and Bus Driver Appreciation Day. Lunch from The Common Market, along with homemade desserts, was provided for our front office secretaries, Ms. Rodriguez, and other admins who help keep the school running smoothly.
Our bus drivers were invited to fill a bag with their favorite snacks, desserts, and cold drinks. A big thank you to Leah and Lauren for helping set everything up and keep the event running smoothly - even with a few hungry students hoping to snag a treat during transition!
Staff appreciation efforts like these are made possible through donations. We are currently collecting donations for Teacher Appreciation Week - just one week away - and encourage everyone to sign up using the Signup Genius, or make a monetary donation via paypal. |
