Staff Appreciation Week
Staff Appreciation Week is May 6-10 this year and the PTSO has planned a great week to show the East Meck staff members just how much they are appreciated!

We would like items donated for the school supplies drive on Tuesday, May 7th and the Snack Cart on Thursday, May 9th. If you sign up to bring in an item, please make sure it is dropped off the day before the event. There will be a box in the front office for you or your student to drop off the donated items. Review the available slots on our SignUpGenius and click on the button to sign up.

Corporate Fundraising Campaign
Are you a business owner or do you work for a company that is active in the community? The PTSO’s Corporate Partnership Committee is looking for business sponsors for the upcoming school year. The support we receive from corporate sponsors and local businesses is instrumental in enhancing educational programs and extracurricular activities at East Meck, including advancement in STEM education, arts and music, sports teams, and much more. Sponsorship also helps create a more engaging and supportive learning environment for our students. In return, East Mecklenburg High School will proudly acknowledge the company’s name in our newsletter, at our event venues, or through our social media platforms, highlighting its pivotal role in supporting education in our community. The Nest
Calling all East Meck Alumni! The Nest – the new East Meck Clothes Closet – is looking for caps and gowns of all sizes for graduation. Please leave them in the front office labeled for Paola Strand.

Service Hours
East Meck MYP service hours are due May 1! 9th graders must log 30 hours and 10th graders must log 40 hours. Enter service hours here. Once services have been approved, remember to complete your reflection in Managebac and request supervisor review.

Independence Library
Check out the teen programs at Independence Library, including “Navigating Adolescence: The Big Picture from a Teen’s Perspective,” on May 7 at 6pm for teens and May 9 at 6pm for adults.
